Madagascar Day 5

Good morning from Tulear, Madagascar! It's a beautiful and already very warm day at 8:30am. We just finished breakfast and enjoyed stories from the one and only Dr. Jim Reardon:) Yesterday was an eventful day filled with the teachings of Ephesians. Our time here has been truly surreal. The Spirit is working in ways that only the Spirit can, and it's such a great comfort and blessing to experience this perfect joy and peace that can come from no where else. The men were able to convey to the class yesterday that discipleship is done through not only lecture but also discussion. They were able to model discipleship in the midst of a small group and reveal Truth to several individuals in a way they had not understood it before. Praise God. We are definitely facing some spiritual opposition here, so we ask for your prayers during these next few days. Please pray for our health and also our spiritual and mental well-being. Please also be praying for those who we have come to speak with, and also for our gracious hosts - Bishop Todd, Patsy and Ryan. The Malagasi people have humbled our American team in many ways. As Brandon put it, they are selfless in ways they don't even realize. Not even the children seem to put themselves first. My favorite example is this past Sunday at church. Eva, a little girl sitting between Brandon and myself, saw me dripping sweat and began to blow air on me. She continued to on and off throughout the entire two and a half hour service. It was a beautiful picture of servanthood, selflessness and childlike love. Needless to say, we are learning just as much from the people we have come to teach - even the smallest of ones...
